Admission Requirements
It's easy to apply to the Master of Arts in Teaching and Leadership degree program from Saint Xavier University. Simply complete your application online after reviewing the admission criteria and application instructions listed below. There is no application fee or entrance exam required (such as the GRE or Miller's Analogy Test). Because the program is designed to integrate with the participant's current classroom activities, all applicants must be practicing teachers.
Criteria for Admission
In addition to the general requirements for admission to graduate studies at Saint Xavier University, you also must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor's degree conferred by a regionally accredited institution.
- Maintain a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 (Students may be admitted on probationary status when the GPA is less than 3.0.).
- Be employed full time in a K—12 classroom with access to the same students each semester or school year.
- Hold a current validated teaching certificate (i.e., primary, elementary, or high school).
- Have access to a computer and the Internet.
How to Apply
The following documents must be submitted to complete the admission process:
- The completed Graduate Studies Application for the Master of Arts in Teaching and Leadership degree program. This form is available for completion only online.
- Official transcript(s) sent directly from the college or university that granted the undergraduate degree and any completed graduate level coursework.
- Two letters of recommendation (from your principal and a colleague).
- Copy (ies) of teaching certificate(s).

Documents may be forwarded to Saint Xavier University as they become available. However, the application process is completed only after all materials are received and reviewed by the School of Education. The admission process is complete when the student receives a letter to that effect from the dean. It is assumed as "good will" that an applicant will complete the application package as soon as possible after receiving it. Applicants must meet their admission or financial obligations within 30 days of starting the program. Those who do not meet these obligations will have a "hold" placed on their academic records. Applicants who are admitted to the FBMP receive materials enabling them to attend the program at a specific site. A tuition deposit is due upon declaration of the site.

To apply online at Saint Xavier University, click the link below and you will be directed to a new Web site. At that site, click on "Create Your Account" under "Getting Started." You will be asked to complete some basic information including your name, phone number and e-mail address. You then will need to create a username that is up to eight characters long and a password that is at least seven characters long. All this information will be used to process your application.
