| Q. |
Will courses transfer to my Master's degree program? |
| A. |
The MATL program is a cohort program whereby all students attend all the same
classes together. This allows for interactive discussions and group projects of which each student
is an integral part. The MATL program has a defined curriculum. Courses taken build on one another
and therefore we are not able to accept any transfers.
|
| Q. |
Will these courses transfer to other colleges? |
| A. |
Saint Xavier University is a nationally accredited institution. The MATL
Program is approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Wisconsin Educational
Approval Board. All courses taken in the program are graduate level courses. Acceptance of
any transfer course is always dependent upon the approval of the university to which you are
transferring.
|
| Q. |
Will this Master's degree be accepted by other districts or in
other states? |
| A. |
The MATL Degree is a recognized graduate degree from a nationally accredited
university. However, acceptance of any degree by any school district would be dependent upon the
individual school district's policies and guidelines.
|
| Q. |
Whom do I call if I am having problems? |
| A. |
You should contact an MATL Program representative at 800-463-5174 with any
questions about the program, available site areas, information sessions, application and admission
procedures, or financing options. We will help you in any way we can or will refer you to the

How does this program differ from other programs? |
| A. |
First, our program focuses on the practical application of the best instructional practices
designed to improve student academic performance. Teachers can immediately apply what they
learn in our program to their own students the very next day. Second, our program uses a cohort
model and is taught in a collaborative learning environment. This approach allows students to
interact face to face with both instructors and colleagues, providing them with the opportunity
to share ideas and experiences throughout the program. Students receive constant support and
immediate feedback from instructors and facilitators through interactive classroom discussions.
You will learn new ways of teaching, experience student successes, and renew your passion for
teaching.
